Steadfast Women in Ministry, Inc's Mission & Ministry
Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord because you know that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. ~1 Corinthians 15:58 NRSV
S.W.I.M.'S Mission Statement
Steadfast Women in Ministry, Inc. (S.W.I.M.) is a Christian, interdenominational ministry and 501(c)(3) nonprofit advancing Christ's ministry of healing through Mental Health Theology. We partner with churches, clergy, faith leaders, and community organizations to integrate biblical and theological wisdom with evidence-based mental health practices, helping to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health within houses of worship while fostering communities of healing, hope, and restoration.
We carry out this mission through three signature initiatives:
We Equip.
S.W.I.M. provides faith-based education, workshops, and specialized training for churches, clergy, ministry leaders, nonprofit organizations, healthcare professionals, and community partners seeking to address mental health with theological integrity, clinical insight, and practical tools.
We Support.
Through the Julienne Therapy Sponsorship Program, S.W.I.M. helps reduce financial barriers to counseling by sponsoring therapy sessions for eligible clients receiving care from licensed clinicians within the S.W.I.M. network, with a particular commitment to serving underrepresented populations, especially women.
We Connect.
Through the S.W.I.M. Faith-Affirming Care Directory, we connect individuals, churches, and organizations with licensed mental health professionals who honor their clients' spiritual values and provide faith-affirming care. The directory also offers qualified clinicians an opportunity to expand their visibility while serving individuals seeking integrated mental health support.
As an interdenominational organization, S.W.I.M. exists to equip houses of worship, support those in need, and build partnerships that extend Christ's healing ministry into faith communities and the broader public. We believe healing is both a ministry and a mission, and we are committed to helping every person experience hope, dignity, and restoration.
