PROFILE

The Sexual Assault, Abuse & Victims Empowerment (SAAVE) Program is a hospital‑affiliated community advocacy and support service providing 24/7, trauma‑informed, victim‑centered care for individuals impacted by sexual assault, domestic and intimate partner violence, human trafficking, gun violence, stalking, harassment, and all forms of gender‑based violence.

SAAVE offers free and confidential Advocacy services, including crisis intervention, emotional support, safety planning, accompaniment, and connection to long‑term resources.

SAAVE recognizes that faith, spirituality, and religious identity can be essential sources of strength, grounding, and healing for many survivors. The program is Very Comfortable Serving Faith‑Identified Survivors.

Faith‑affirming supports available include Spiritual Support, Referrals to Clergy, and Faith‑Based Resources. SAAVE acknowledges and supports clients’ faith, religion, or spirituality whenever requested and accepts referrals from faith communities seeking safe, trauma‑informed care for their members.

Westchester Medical Center is also home to a 24/7 forensic nursing team trained to collect forensic evidence following sexual assault. Survivors may contact the program at any time for immediate assistance.
