PROFILE
The Union Baptist Church Stephen Ministry is a confidential, one-to-one Christian caregiving ministry that equips trained lay caregivers (Stephen Ministers) to provide emotional, spiritual, and compassionate support to individuals experiencing difficult life circumstances.
The ministry serves both Union Baptist Church members and the broader community, offering Christ-centered care while working alongside pastoral leadership and referring individuals to professional resources when needs extend beyond the ministry's scope. Developed in 2017 to expand pastoral care for both the congregation and the surrounding Greenburgh community, the ministry is part of the national Stephen Ministry organization, founded in 1975, which provides training, resources, and consultation to participating congregations.
